Marcia Muller’s

Ripinski, are married and she agrees to investigate the 22-year old mysterious
disappearance of a housewife, mother, and artist. When she co-authored Beyond the Grave with Bill
Pronzini, she introduced Elena Oliverez and continued her character through two
more novels, The Tree of Death and The
Legend of the Slain Soldiers. An earlier series of novels
featured Joanna Stark: Cavalier in White,
There Hangs the Knife, and Dark Star. Muller is a
recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Private Eye
Writers of America,
a two-time winner of the Shamus Award, and nominated for an Edgar.
Muller is a prolific writer of novels, short stories, and has edited
anthologies and co-authored with her husband, novelist Bill Pronzini. She lives
in San Francisco, California.
