The Adventure of the Murdered Moths and Other Radio Mysteries

About the Author:

Ellery Queen

Ellery Queen is the pseudonym of a fictional author and fictional detective created by cousins Manfred Lee and Frederic Dannay. Together they wrote over 42 Ellery Queen detective novels; later Queen novels were ghost-written by science fictions writers Avram Davidson and Theodore Sturgeon. The novels are unique in that Ellery Queen has a fictional Queen family history. His mother, who died before the stories began, was from a rich New York family and marries beneath her station. His father is Inspector Queen, who dies early in Ellery's life in the novels but is alive and thriving in movies and TV serials.
Dannay and Lee founded and edited the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine which published short stories by prominent short story mystery writers as well as promising writers. It was the most influential mystery fiction magazine for over 65 years.
In 1961 the Mystery Writers of America honored Danay and Lee with the Grand Master Award for Achievement under their collective name of Ellery Queen.
