The Hunted

About the Author:

Elmore Leonard

Elmore Leonard began his writing career in fifth grade when he wrote a play based on the novel, All Quiet on the Western Front. After service in the Navy, he attended the University of Detroit and began his real writing career. He had early successes writing western novels, many of which became commercial movie successes -- The Bounty Hunter and Hombre, to name two. When interest in westerns waned, he turned to gutsy  hard-boiled crime novels. Many of these novels are set in Leonard's hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
Leonard has won the Edgar Award for Best Novel in 1984 for La Brava. In 1992 he was given the Grand Master Award by the Mystery Writers of America for his lifetime writing achievement. Many of his novels have been made into movies and television series.
Elmore Leonard lives with his wife in a suburb of Detroit and continues to write. His most recent novel, Up in Honey's Room, was released in May, 2007.
