Dolled Up for Murder
About the Author:

Deb Baker
Deb Baker began her writing career later than most writers. She says it took her 25 years to receive her diploma from the University of Wisconsin. She entered the Authorlink International First Novelist Contest in 2003 and won the mystery category and Best of Show for her novel Murder Passes the Buck. That book was the first in her Yooper Series of mysteries set in the fictional town of Stonely. Stonely is not far from Escanaba, Michigan, Baker's own home town. Gertie Johnson is the middle-aged sleuth of the Yooper Series. She is constantly at odds with her local sheriff son, Blaze, as she and her friends, man-hungry Cora Mae and pin-curled Kitty, solve crimes. Baker's secod series, Dolls To Die For, is set in the field of doll collecting. Gretchen Birch is the clever sleuth who finds herself involved in various murders, kidnappings, and mysteries. Her mother is Caroline Birch, a well-known doll restorer for collectors. She is often the person who involves Gretchen in her problems which often lead to murder. She has raised and raced Alaskan huskies but spends most of her time now writing. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and the International Sled Dog. Association. Baker and her family live in North Lake, Wisconsin.
