Tori Carrington is the pen name used by Lori and Tony Karayianni. They have won awards for their steamy romance novels, but they have started a hard-boiled mystery series featuring Sofie Metropolis and set in Astoria, Queens, New York. Sofie is addicted to frappes and works for the Spyros Detective Agency. She is relentless in her quest to solve mysteries, which leads her into dangerous situations. Sophie first appeared in Sofie first appeared inSophie Metropolis in 2005 and has become competition for Stephanie Plum in her own hard-boiled series. The second novel in the Sophie Metropolis series is Dirty Laundry and Foul Play was released in August, 2007.
Lori Karayianni was born in Toledo, Ohio, and earned a degree in Computer Science from Macomber-Whitney and worked in the computer industry for many years. Tony was born in Smila, Greece, and he immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1976. They married in 1987 and make frequent visits to Greece to visit family. Their home is in Toledo, Ohio.
