About the Author:

William G. Tapply

William G. Tapply is a professor of English at the University of Worcester in Massachusetts, and he has written a writing handbook used in classrooms throughout the country, The Elements of Mystery Fiction: Writing a Modern Whodunit. He, himself, has written over a dozen mysteries, all based in New England where he lives with his wife, Vicki Stiefel, also a writer.
Tapply's recreational pasttime is fishing, and he has written dozens of novels, short stories, and articles about fishing and the outdoors. Fishing is a relaxing sport, and it may be this laid-back attitude that lead Tapply to create the character of Brady Coyne. Brady Coyne is a Boston lawyer who prefers the paperwork of deeds, wills, and such -- those activities deemed boring by most lawyers -- but when the need to pursue criminals and murderers appears, he is willing and very able to capture the bad guys.
