The Holcroft Covenant

About the Author:

Robert Ludlum

Robert Ludlum was born in New York City and traveled all over the world gathering background material to include in his many espionage novels. His recent popular novels, which have come to be known as  The Bourne Trilogy, were completed from his partially completed stories and notes by writers hired by his estate after he died in 2001. Based loosely on Ludlum's Bourne novels, movies starring Matt Damon as Jason Bourne have been successful movies.
The themes of his novels served as warnings to not trust anyone or any group that held high political power, especially those with right-wing leanings. His distrust grew out of his hatred of Hitler-like dictators and those who, he believed, pulled the strings for terrorists in order to promote their own agendas to control power in the world.
Ludlum was an infantryman in the Marines and was posted to the South Pacific during World War II. Later, he received a B.A. from Wesleyan University. He married actress Mary Ryducha, and they had three children. He died of a heart attack while in Naples, Florida in May, 2001.
