About the Author:

Jim Butcher
Jim Butcher began his writing career by writing fantasy, but when he was unable to make inroads in that genre, he turned to detective stories. He created the fictional wizard/private eye Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. Set in Chicago, the series known as "The Dresden Files" became popular and was turned into a television series, which was also successful. The first Dresden novel, Storm Front, was published in April, 2000. It was soon followed by Fool Moon and then Grave Peril. There are ten Dresden books (as of April, 2008) and Butcher says he has ideas for another ten. Once successful with his Dresden series, Butcher went on to write a fantasy series, Codex Alexa. He has also written a Spiderman novel, The Darkest Hour, published in June, 2006. Jim Butcher was born in Independence, Missouri, and continues to live there with his wife and son.
