William L. DeAndrea

   William L. DeAndrea was a mystery writer and columnist. His column, J'Accuse! ran in the Armchair Detective published by Mysterious Press. The majority of his mysteries ran in sets of series. His Niccolo Benedetti mysteries were in the great detectives styles, such as Nero Wolfe. Born in New York, he was a member of the Wolfe Pack when he lived there. His Matt Cobb mysteries drew on his own experiences working in television. The Clifford Driscoll novels are spy thrillers. His last  series, the Lobo Black/Quinn Booker mysteries, was set in the old West. He won three Edgars from The Mystery Writers of America. 

   DeAndrea attended Syracuse University. DeAndrea lived with his wife and sons in Watertown, Connecticut until his death in 1996. His wife, mystery writer Jane Haddam, has written introductions and reissued many of his most popular novels.
