Dean Koontz
Dean Koontz writes in a variety of genres: science fiction, psychological thriller, and mystery. He has used at least eleven pseudonyms, but as of 2006, most of his books now carry his real name. He has written two books as Trixie Koontz, his beloved golden retriever, now deceased. After graduating from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, Koontz was an English teacher in Me chanicsburg High School. He wrote his first novel, Star Quest, in his spare time. He wanted so much to be a writer that his wife told him to quit his job and she would support him for five years so he could write. At the end of that time period, he was a success and she was his business manager. He has had the most novels listed as #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List.
He lives with his wife Gerda, his high school sweetheart, in New Port Beach, California.
