Penelope Wintercraft-Hawkes is a free-lancetheatrical director as well as the founder of an acting troupe called The Tamburlaine Players. The long-time girlfriend and co-sleuth of Ringan Laine, she helps resolve old mysteries involving ghosts in Deborah Grabien's series of mystery novels referred to as the Haunted Ballad Series.
