John Rebus

John Rebus, usually referred to as simply Rebus, is the Scottish Police Inspector protagonist of Ian Rankin's series of that name. He is introspective and wonders why people do such bad things. He suffers from trauma from his SAS training. He has problems with relationships, unable to become close to either family or friends.
