Asey Mayo

   Asey Mayo is the detective in Phoebe Atwood Taylor's series of his name. He is never fully described other than as an intelligent, typical New Englander. He wears corduroy pants and flannel shirts and works for  Porter Motors on Cape Cod and solves crimes and mysteries perpetrated mostly by the "folks from away". His cousin, Jennie Mayo, and her husband Syl sometimes assist him in solving mysteries, but more often than not, it is Jenny who involves him in the mystery in the first place.
