Carolyn Hart
Carolyn Gimpel Hart began her writing career as a journalist. Her books have won several Agatha and Macavity Awards and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2003 for Letter from Home. She is one of the founders of the Sisters in Crime organization for women mystery writers. While she has written many mysteries, her Death on Demand and Henrie O series have been her most popular books. Death on Demand is a mystery bookstore on Broward's Rock Island, South Carolina owned by amateur sleuth Annie Laurance. Annie became Annie Darling when she married Max Darling. The Henrie O is named for Henrietta O'Dwyer Collins, a retired newspaper reporter, who has a nose for trouble. Carolyn Hart was born in Oklahoma, graduated from high school in Oklahoma, graduated from Oklahoma University, and makes her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma today.
