Gayle Lynds has written eight espionage novels of her own. She joined with Robert Ludlum to create the Covert-One series, writing three of the novels herself. Her most recent novel, The Last Spymaster, was awarded "Novel of the Year" by the Military Writers Society of America. Lynds, a widow with four grown children, was born in Nebraska and now lives in Southern California.
