Megan Abbott
Megan Abbott, who writes hardboiled noir fiction, was born in
the Detroit area and graduated from the University of Michigan. She
received her PhD in English and literature from New York University.
Her graduate thesis was on noir, and she has become one of the foremost
modern writers of hardboiled noir detective stories. She has taught
literature at New York colleges and universities. Her first novel, Die a Little, was nominated for the Best First Novel Edgar Award by the Mystery Writers of America in 2006. Her recent, Queenpin, has been nominated for a 2008 Edgar for Best Paperback Original Novel.
