Diane Mott Davidson
Diane Mott Davidson's mystery novels are set in a small town outside of Denver, Colorado and revolve around the protagonist caterer Goldy Schulz. Each of her novels include recipes for the casseroles and desserts mentioned throughout the book. The catering company name, Goldilocks Catering, is a play on her childhood nickname and maiden name Bear. Goldy's best friend Marla is a previous wife of Goldy's abusive ex-husband John Richard Korman, referred to as "the jerk". She has a son Arch who is an avid skier, and they take in a homeless teen Julian Teller, who later on becomes a partner in her growing catering business. Goldy met her supportive but exasperated husband policeman Tom Schulz in Catering to Nobody. Although Goldy is the sleuth in all the books of the series, the supporting characters add fun and charm to these delicious mysteries. Diane Mott Davidson lives with her husband and three sons in Evergreen, Colorado, where she is active in volunteer work, writes her novels, and cooks.
