Barry Eisler
Barry Eisler is originally from New Jersey and holds a law degree from Cornell University. He has studied martial arts in Japan. He also held a covert position in the CIA and was stationed in Japan and later worked for Matsushita Electric (Panasonic) in Japan. Eisler has drawn on his experiences in the CIA, international business and travel, and martial arts skills to write a series of novels that star fictional John Rain. Rain is a Japanese-American freelance assassin whose specialty is making deaths appear to be from natural causes. Rain first appeared in Rain Fall in 2002. The sixth Rain novel was published in 2007 - Requiem of an Assassin -- and is a nominee for the Deadly Pleasures Barry Award for Best Thriller of 2007.
Eisler and his family currently live in California.
