J. D. Robb is a pseudonym of Nora Roberts. Her initials are taken from her sons, Jason and Dan, and Robb is a shortened version of Roberts. She is a prolific writer of romantic fiction and mysteries with close to 150 books written under her own name and J. D. Robb.
She comes from a family of great readers, and her writing is an extension of reading. Several of her manuscripts had been rejected before her first book, Irish Thoroughbred, was published by Silhouette in 1981.
She, her husband, and sons have traveled and lived all over the world.
