A Cold Treachery

About the Author:

Charles Todd

Charles Todd is the pen name of a mother and son writing team, Charles and Caroline Todd. Although they make their homes in the eastern United States, the setting of their mysteries is England post World War I. Their books deal with the cases of Scotland Yard Inspector Ian Rutledge who is attempting to pick up his career after the war. Rutledge is an interesting character because in addition to solving crimes, he suffers from shell shock and hears the voice of a soldier he had to execute on the battlefield for refusing to obey an order.
A Test of Wills was nominated for the John Creasey Award in the United Kingdom. Other books have been nominated for the Edgar Award and a New York Times Notable Book of the Year.
