Bill Crider

   Bill Crider is a born, raised and schooled Texan who loves to read and write mysteries. In fact, he wrote a dissertation on the hardboiled detective novel for his Ph.D from the University of Texas at Austin. He went on to teach at the college level and was the Chair of the Division of English and Fine Arts in Alvin Texas.
  He writes several series, all set in Texas, as well as children's books and westerns. His Sheriff Dan Rhodes earned him the Anthony Award for Best First Novel of 1986. The Dan Rhodes novels are hardboiled fun for the reader. Drawing from his life experience, he has a series with college English teacher/protagonists Carl Burns and Sally Good. In all, Crider has written over fifty mysteries to date.
   Crider and his wife Judy live with their cats in Austin, Texas.
