Linda Fairstein
Linda Fairstein was
a prosecutor
specializing in cases of sexual assault and domestic violence and was head of the
Sex Crimes Unit of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office for over twenty
years. Violence and rape are prominent themes in her novels. Her first novel Final Jeopardy introduced Alexandra “Alex”
Cooper, an assistant DA in New York who prosecutes
rapists and was a possible victim in the book. There have been eight other Alex
Cooper novels: Likely to Die, Cold Hit,
The Deadhouse, The Bone Vault, The Kills, Entombed, Death Dance, and the
most recent novel, Bad Blood.
Fairstein was a Macavity Awards Best Novel nominee
in 2002. She lives with her husband in Manhattan.
