Janet Evanovich is best known for her Stephanie Plum books - One For the Money, Two For the Dough, Three to Get Deadly, etc. to her latest Lean Mean Thirteen. Stephanie Plum lives in Trenton, NJ and works for her cousin Vinnie as a bounty hunter. Stephanie is torn between almost-fiance Joe Morelli, now a Trenton cop, and Ranger, a soldier-of- fortune type and sometimes-bounty hunter who rescues her from near disasters. Her close but somewhat dysfunctional family adds humor to the novels.
Supporting characters in the Stephanie Plum novels are over-the-top funny. Cousin Vinny owns the bounty office and is stereotypically sleazy. Lula, the former hooker turned file clerk is a bounty hunter wannabe and pushes herself into many of Stephanie's assignments. Grandma Mazur, feisty and exasperating, never fails to make a bad situation worse for Stephanie.
Evanovich has two other series in bookstores. The Metro Series includes Metro Girl and Motor Mouth. The Full Series was co-authored with Charlotte Huges - Full House, Full Speed, Full Tilt, Full Blast, Full Bloom, and Full Scoop.
Evanovich has won many awards for her crime novels. She is the
recipient of the Crime Writers Association John Creasy Memorial, Last
Laugh, and Silver Dagger Awards.
Janet Evanovich was born in New Jersey but now lives with her husband, son and daughter in New Hampshire.
